Year: 2014
Director: David Ayer
Genres: Action, Crime, Drama
Stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard
Review: This film is absolutely terrible. The main plot point makes very little sense, as the basis for the film is precipitated by a completely unnecessary risk taken by the elite DEA task force. The characters are abysmally written. Each one has fully embraced their gutter trash personas so that they can be the best undercover agents in the DEA. The result of this is that every member of the team is completely unlikeable, a trait which extends even to Schwarzeneggers John Breacher Wharton, and I found myself not caring in the least when a character was killed off.The female characters in the film were unattractive, in every respect. Please keep in mind, Schwarzenegger is my favorite action star. End of Watch is one of my favorite films. I greatly enjoyed Harsh Times.Did it seem like the filmmakers made an effort to incorporate realistic room-clearing tactics into the film? Yes, and it should always be appreciated when consultants with actual experience in a field are hired to contribute to a films authenticity. But it doesnt compete with the nonsensical storyline or the forced, unbelievable interactions between the static, uninteresting characters. This film is absolutely terrible.

Review: Oh boy. Where to even start. I suppose that first off I had way better expectations because I was a HUGE fan of Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad, considering it one of the most brilliant shows I have ever seen. I was let down. Thankfully, he wasnt the worst actor in this film. Every single other person was. This is the first film Ive seen that Imogen Poots had a lead role in, and I will probably never see one again. There were a couple of parts that I had hope for her, but it only lasted a few seconds until I was questioning if this was the first film shes ever been in. I was also unimpressed by Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi)s performance. He is one of my all time favorite music artists and that is definitely what he should stick to, music. I guess its not really his fault that the script was so awful and he was required to recite joke after joke that they were trying SO HARD to make funny (failed immensely), but I figured hed have the balls to say Im not reading this crap on camera. As far as the other actors and actresses, it would be a waste of my time to even say anything about them, because it is nothing good. I dont even want to get started on Michael Keatons washed-up performance. The entire movie flip flops between emotional scenes (which are anything but) and action scenes. None of this flows at all. The scenes where youre supposed to feel some kind of connection between characters does not succeed. Nothing builds you up to them and theyre all really awkward and you will feel no differently about anyone or anything going on in the film. The action scenes seem like they were thought up last minute and felt very rushed. It was like they had a five minute time limit on each one or else someone was going to murder their family.I guess one positive thing was the visuals, which were alright. Thats probably where this movie is getting rated anything above a seven, its from the gear heads (no offense to anybody.) There were some pretty bad ass cars that were nice to look at and some of the action scenes were done nicely (looked nice) aside from feeling hurried. To wrap this up, this is one of the cheesiest and most predictable movies I have ever seen. I called everything that was going to happen in almost every scene because its been done hundreds of times in hundreds of films, all executed in the same way. Im still not sure why the synopsis starts with fresh from prison because how prison affected his life is touched nowhere in the movie. I know that isnt a big deal but for some reason that just bugs me. If you must see this movie, make sure someone else is paying or you have a free rental up for grabs from your local video store.

Brick Mansions 2014 torrent

Year: 2014
Director: Camille Delamarre
Genres: Action, Crime, Drama
Stars: Paul Walker, David Belle, RZA
Review: Dystopian Detroit. Criminal exploits. No name thugs. Guns and drugs. These are probably words, phrases, and tags seen before in other movies, and apt descriptors of Brick Mansions. The movie is a remake of 2004?s french title District B13 and stars the late Paul Walker as police officer Damien Collier. For about a year, Damien has been undercover looking to take down Tremaine (RZA), a kingpin who also killed Damiens father while he was in the line of duty.Tremaine and crew reside in Brick Mansions, a place so dangerous they built a wall around it to protect the rest of the city. Brick Mansions, once a place of great prosperity, is now a hellhole no man or woman should venture into.To take down Tremaine though, Damien will need help. Lino Dupree is an in and out con who isnt really a bad guy, but more of a victim of circumstance. As a resident, he knows Brick Mansions like the back of his hand. For Lino, it becomes personal when his girlfriend is taken hostage by Tremaine. To save Detroit and exact revenge, the reluctant duo must come together for a common cause.Brick Mansions is not going to blow anyone away, which should not be appalling looking at the trailers. It really does possess a straight to home media vibe, from the cast to the direction. But you know what? I did not think it was completely terrible and dare I say I was still kind of entertained, all because I knew what I was getting into. In no way does this absolve the films problems, and it was not worth 11 dollars, but I have felt much worse spending my hard earned cash on other cinema films.Lets get right down to the acting, specifically Paul Walkers in his last full role. It is not controversial to call Mr. Walker an average actor, and many of the roles and movies he starred in were never that acclaimed. He knew his limitations, and there is no fault in that. One thing he often had in most roles though was screen presence and silent charisma, which is evident here. It may sound politically correct, but he really is the best thing about Brick Mansions. Likable, endearing, and just a good guy to pull for.As for the rest of the acting, it is downright abysmal. Maybe a quarter of this is due to the dreadful dialogue, which falls into the typical hard sounding thug talk that is supposed to be realistic and fear- invoking, but comes off as dated and hilarious. David Belle, one of the founders of Parkour, brings amazing physical feats to the silver screen, but his acting chops are nonexistent. To add insult to injury, he clearly struggles with the English language which ends up resulting in horribly dubbed dialogue.Still, he is not the worst actor in this movie. That title indisputably belongs to RZA. His Tremaine is supposed to be menacing and unflinching, but time and time again he brings the same facial expression to the character, and the dialogue delivered by him may be the worst heard all year. He has no thespian talent, plain and simple, and it is time that Hollywood stop giving this man so many chances. Honestly, there are worse actors present, especially RZAs main henchman who is just as offensive, but none have the billing that RZA does in this. The plot itself is nothing to write home about, and is somewhat absurd and slightly predictable. Just take it for what it is. There are times late when the movie makes thinly veiled allusions to present day Detroit and the Occupy Wall Street movement, but it basically is a popcorn movie existing to showcase guns, stunts, and fisticuffs. The only big issue had is that everything wraps up too nicely given that the movie was a full on war moments before. As a whole, it is nothing that hasnt been done or seen previously (and better at that), but at least it only last 90 minutes. There really are some well done set pieces from time to time. Parkour may be a passing fad now, but when done right, it is still a treat to witness, and David Belle moves effortlessly between chasms and rooftops seamlessly. Paul Walker provides more…
